AirVenture Crowd Grows Large.

Since day one of the AirVenture 2008 event, the swarms of participants was an amazing sight to see.
Every exhibit seemed to be packed with eager and entertained faces.
An estimated number of over 10,000 aircraft of all shapes, sizes, and ages were parked over 1,400 acres!
The event entertained over 540,000 attendees from 75 countries, up 50 percent from 2007.

With more than 1,200 activities and nearly 800 exhibitors, there wasn't a dull moment from opening to closing day.
More than 23,000 youth learned about the excitement of flight through hands-on activities, flight simulators, top-notch speakers and more.
It's no wonder the event lasts for a week (July 28 - August 3). With that many aircraft, activities, and events to check out, you truly need a full week to do so.

The largest crowd ever – estimated at 10,000 – gathered to see comedian and ventriloquist Jeff Dunham. That same night, another 6,000 were at the Ford Fly-in Theater to hear Harrison Ford introduce "Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom".

This truly was "The Worlds Greatest Aviation Celebration".
Thank you to Tom Poberezny and Dick Knapinski.

-COMING IN 2009-
Several themes will be present for the upcoming 2009 event including mission aviation and a Concorde reunion. Plus Burt Rutan of Scaled Composites and Sir Richard Branson and Will Whitehorn of Virgin Galactic said they would bring White Knight Two, the newly introduced launch vehicle for SpaceShipTwo to next year’s fly-in.
